The Biggest Fan, 2011, Reclaimed Polystyrene, Wood, Steel, Modified Found Table, Gorilla Glue, Recycled Latex, Bearings, Tranmission Shafts, Chain, Chainrings, Bevel Gears, Sno-Cone Ice Shaver, Sno-Cone Cups, Maple Syrup, Ice

Exhibited during a Fourth of July rock and roll festival, the Biggest Fan is a metaphor for a post-industrial society in the form of a light-hearted, interactive sculpture. A hand cranked power system drives a 12 foot tall box fan that ironically can barely stir up a breeze (the fan's drive system is intentionally geared low and one vein is completely broken). In response to the disappointing breeze, a secondary drive system runs a sno-cone maker so ultimately, in the height of summer, honest, hard-working Americans can use The Biggest Fan to enjoy cooling refreshment.
